BeagleBone Black: BeagleBone Black News Reader ... | element14 | Arduino, Netduino, Rasperry Pi! | Scoop.it
When revision C of the BeagleBone Black came out running Debian from the factory, I knew I had to have one. It was also around this time that I made a major career change, and left tech journalism for a more lucrative position as a Drupal developer at a friends web development firm. While playing around with my new BeagleBone Black one night, I began wondering how hard it would be to get a web server up and running and if the Black would be able to handle MySQL and Apache2 along with a Drupal Install.

Using OS X to Image an SD Card with Debian for BeagleBone Black | Acme Dot Company

Using OS X to Image an SD Card with Debian for BeagleBone Black | Acme Dot Company | Arduino, Netduino, Rasperry Pi! | Scoop.it

The latest revision of the BeagleBone Black is shipping with a 4GB eMMC, and it’s now possible to get it pre-imaged with Debian Wheezy, a more broadly useful production-isn environment than Angstrom. If you have a rev. B BeagleBone Black, you might want to run Debian on yours as well.

BeagleBoard.org only provides instructions for using a Windows machine to set up an SD card with the Debian Wheezy image, so I wanted to document a parallel set of directions and utilities for OS X user

Malcolm Groves — Running FireMonkey apps on the Beaglebone Black

Malcolm Groves — Running FireMonkey apps on the Beaglebone Black | Arduino, Netduino, Rasperry Pi! | Scoop.it

It’s a single-board computer, about the size of a credit card. It’s powered by an ARM Cortex A8 and includes the NEON floating point accelerator. Happily that matches nicely with the Android device requirements for RAD Studio and AppMethod.

When I saw that, I wondered what it would take to deploy a FireMonkey app to it. Like most things, it’s pretty easy once you know how, but it took me a few false starts to get it all figured out. Further, much of the information online assumes you’ll be doing this from Linux. Given my aim of running FireMonkey apps on the Beaglebone, I really wanted to show the steps from Windows.

So here they are.
