SoulMate is a local band which is performing around Toulouse in France. They are friends of mine. They are not professionals, but some of their song have so much energy and so rock. They also do some remarkable cover !
I always love discovering not so recent albums. And I never thought I would like songs performed by my father's favorite musician, Mr Wyatt, which I used to really dislike as a child.
Led by percussionist Robert Wyatt, Soft Machne first three albums are landmarks in experimental rock. Melding rock, jazz and classical styles into a kind of noncommercial prefusion muisc, Soft Machine became the most musically accomplished of the experimental groups to come out of Engalnd in the sixties.
I have found this Polish band which perform some quite calm and pretty rock. As you can listen their track samples, their music is instrumental, no lyrics. Too bad because their songs would have more substance. As their video clip stands, their music can be good sound tracks of a movie.
So it seems to be good music to listen while you're working, but I have doubt you can get any interest to see them at a concert.
Now this is me being sarcastic; how could they get a award for their record ? They really cannot do better in Poland ?
Now this is me being a geek web developer; their site is quite clean and easy to read and browse. Nice site!
Video clip of one of the latest hit of Muse. You probably already know it. But I find it interesting as this what I like in Muse, their music is for concert, big concert ! And being a software engineer, funny to see some geeky logs on the screens :)
On the italian tv show Rai Due, the band performed Uprising, in playback. In playback is for cheaters but they turn it into fun. Matthew Bellamy, singer and guitarist, is at the drums. The drummer Dominic James Howard is at the guitar and have a mic. The result is quite funny
Ange is a French progressive rock band formed in September 1969 by the Décamps brothers, Francis (keyboards) and Christian (vocals, accordion, acoustic guitar and keyboards)
In one of the best music show Taratata, where I have discovered Yodelice for their first album, Yodelice performed a wonderful live performance of a song of their second album. I don't buy much albums, but this one I'am quite crazy about it. I really recommend it.
Soundtrack of Confessions (Kokuhaku), a 2010 Japanese drama film directed by Tetsuya Nakashima (a psychological thriller of a grieving mother turned cold-blooded avenger).
We can listen all the intensity Radiohead can put with a voice and a simple piano.

Radiohead, playing “Creep”, from PABLO HONEY. Radiohead, in the “Live at the Astoria” concert on 27 May 1994, notable mainly for its collection of songs that would not appear until the release of THE BENDS, ten months later. It is also Radiohead’s only concert home video/DVD to date. This dvd captures Radiohead playing an absolutely amazing gig. The quality of the performance is remarkable – Thom Yorke’s soaring voice, Jonny Greenwood’s frantic yet precise lead guitar, Ed O’Brien’s haunting atmospheric sound. The tightness and balance of the band is awe-inspiring. The gig features songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends (plus a few others). These are Radiohead’s more ‘conventional, pre-experimental’ songs, which will appeal to any fans of current UK rock music. They feature catchy melodies, great lyrics and amazing, powerful instrumentals.
